As part of a NIHR Cochrane programme grant, we collaborated with Epilepsy Action to produce Patient Decision Aids. The Patient Decision Aids are based on Cochrane reviews that assessed the effectiveness of antiepileptic drugs as add-on treatments for people with drug-resistant epilepsy.
The Patient Decision Aids and the Guide to using a Patient Decision Aid are written in plain English. They are designed for use by clinicians, patients and their families/caregivers to aid discussions about benefits, potential harms, and patient's own preferences regarding treatment so that, together, they can make a treatment decision.
